Vivo enters India; launches flagship model

New Delhi: Smartphone manufacturer Vivo Monday announced its entry into the Indian market introducing its flagship model X5Max, priced at Rs.32,980.


According to the company, it is very hopeful about its prospects in the Indian market which is one of the fastest and largest growing handset spaces in the world.

"We are excited to present our marquee product in India. In the future, we might go in for further launches depending upon the market condition," Shen Wei, global chief executive, Vivo Mobile Communication told media.

The company's top official did not divulge any investment or sales plan. However, he maintained that the firm's strategy will depend on the market conditions, which he predicted to be highly favourable.

The company launched its flagship mobile device the X5Max, which is dubbed as the world's slimmest phone at only 4.75 mm in thickness.

The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa-Core processor operating on Funtouch OS based on Android 4.4.

The phone also comes with a 13-megapixel camera and a five-megapixel selfie camera.
