How To Enable Click To Play Plugins in Google Chrome

  1. Click to Play features you need to know. 
    Click to Play can prevent the plugin from automatically loading. This option does not require any additional plugin downloads, it’s built right into new versions of the Chrome browser:
  2. Step by step guide to enable Click To Play Plugins in Google Chrome. 
    Step 1 - Open the general menu in the top right-hand corner of your Chrome browser, then go to Settings.

    Step 2 - Click on the advanced settings link.
    Step 3 - Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Show advanced settings.

    Step 4 - A new Window will pop-up, scroll down until you see the Plug-ins section. Then change the plug-ins option from Run automatically to Click to play.

    Step 5 - Scroll down to Plug-ins in the small pop-up window and select the bubble next to Click to play. Don't forget to click the OK button to save your selection.
    Step 6 - Test out your new rule for running plug-ins by opening a YouTube video. You should see an image similar to the one above.
    Step 7 - Now you won't have to worry about sound randomly playing from Web sites, and can save yourself some aggravation from listening to ads.
